Embracing Equity all day, every day......

I am loving the theme of this year’s International Women's Day. It’s made me reflect on what I do day-to-day to Embrace Equity.

• As Co-Director of balancetogether, I am actively working with organisations to create workplaces where women can thrive, levelling the playing field after decades of inequality.
• As an Investors in People Practitioner, our mission is to ‘make work better’ for millions of people across the UK; recognising that forging inclusive work environments brings about organisational success.
• As a Trustee of Leeds-based charity Behind Closed Doors, which works tirelessly at its vision to build lives free from domestic abuse.
• AND last but not least, as a mum of a 7-year-old girl, I consciously encourage her to try different things. While she has a huge passion for dancing and acting, she is equally at home with a cricket bat and that’s really important to me. Here we are at half-term on the Yorkshire Coast having a clifftop cuddle!

My challenge to my network for IWD 2023 is ‘what do you do every day to embrace equity?’. And is there more that you can be doing? I’d love to hear about your ideas, any actions you have put in place and what the results have been.
